Bratislava – Central Europe’s Loveliest Capital

Bratislava, Slovakia’s capital city is a remarkably well preserved city that presents its visitors festive architecture from the 18th and the 19th centuries along with Soviet-style slab buildings in a unique and special way.

History of Bratislava:
Bratislava was invaded and conquered by many during its history. It was designated as the capital of the Royal Hungary during the 16th century. From 18th century onwards, Bratislava emerged as an important centre of the Slovak National Revival (Slovak national and cultural movement). One should also not miss a visit to Dom sv Martina (St. Martin’s Cathedral), a gothic-styled cathedral that served as a church for coronation of kings from the 16th century to 19th century.
