Other preferred location for youths can be low cost hostels near East Railway station as it is only 4 km from the West Lake.

They are very near to the Business centres in Huangzhou and airport is only 40 minutes away. For shoppers, Pinghai Road hotels should be preferred as they are near to Shopping Malls. Huangzhou was ruled by many dynasties over a period of 2200 years, the first among them being the Qin dynasty. Qin dynasty was followed by the Tang, Song, Yuan and the last dynasty to rule it was the Ming-Qing dynasty. By this time, it had been prospered as the most important silk centre of China. In 1920’s, Shanghai took over its economic status but because of foreign investments and China’s private industries, it regained its prosperity.

West Lake is the most popular tourist destination, famous for its splendid sceneries. It is naturally set and resembles a traditional Chinese garden on a large scale.
Six Harmonies Pagoda is a Buddhist 13 storied wooden monument situated on the banks of Quintang River and gives an awesome view of the surrounding beauty. Lingyin temple, Thousand Islet Lake, National Silk Museum and National Tea Museum are also worth visiting.
Huangzhou has Xiaoshan International Airport about 27 km from the city. It has domestic flights to almost all cities of China and international flights to Japan, Korea etc. It has East Railway Station which has trains connecting Huangzhou to major cities. Best transport for tourists is Public Bus. Air conditioned buses are marked with a K. Youngsters can explore the city on rented bicycles. Taxi services are plentiful. There are also boat trips to Suzhou via the Grand Canal.
Places of Entertainment
Other than Shopping Malls, Huangzhou has a great nightlife with vibrant bars and clubs such as JZ Club, Shamrock Irish Sports Pub having awesome music and drinks. There are night performances along West Lake worth visiting.
