History

Kuala Belatit was lost to Japan during the Second World War but was again restored to Brunei after few years. The town of Kuala Belatit prospered in the reign of late Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin. A large number of buildings and hotels were built around the town after the independence.

Ferries and water taxis are prime modes of transport in Kuala Belatit. One can take ferries to witness the scenic beauty across the river during the journey. There is no provision of trains in Kuala Belatit district, although one can take bus but there are no direct buses to move around you need to change buses to reach desired destinations.

Sadly Kuala Belatit doesn’t have any night life, though one can visit the scenic beauty during the day time. It has some shopping arcades here and there. There are some Chinese restaurants worth a visit.
