The MEININGER City Hostel & Hotel Hallesches Ufer offers hotel quality at hostel prices. There are 74 rooms spread over 7 floors. This hostel is the most modern and largest MEININGER house in Berlin with 364 beds. All rooms have modern furnishing and have a shower/ WC and TV. Our 26 single and double rooms additionally have a telephone. A special highlight is the rooftop terrace with a phenomenal view over Berlin's rooftops.

Rooms are available starting at 3 pm on the date of arrival, although you may check-in prior to that. Our free luggage room is available for storing luggage in the meantime

Cleanliness is a high priority for us. All rooms are cleaned daily, as well as are our common rooms and areas.

The hostel is located in a safe area in the district of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. The building and the rooms are equipped with a highly modern keycard system.

The entire hostel has a modern fire alarm system with smoke detectors and fire extinguishers on each floor.

Additionally, our reception is staffed 24 hours a day so there is always a contact person available for questions and problems.

The MEININGER City Hostel & Hotel Hallesches Ufer is located in the central Berlin district Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. Our central location makes it extremely easy and quick to reach us with public transportation.

Nightlife

Berlin's nightlife is legendary, colorful and diverse. After reunification, a plethora of new clubs bordering on legal popped up in the former east. Now, there are over 200 bars and clubs forming a creative music scene that not only has attracted clubbers from all over the world, but continues to attract new artists and musicians as well, preserving the tradition of diversity and innovation. Everyone who likes music is sure to find something of great value.

The best source of information about current events is via the popular city magazines Zitty or Tip (German links).

You can always find just what you are looking for in this city at any time, day or night. Where ever the eye wanders there are restaurants, bars, cafés, pubs, etc, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The gastronomic selection includes everything from lamb in mint sauce to simple hamburger patties with potato salad, and not to forget the Berlin specialties of curry wurst and doener kebabs. There are over 8000 restaurants from which to choose.

Our tip: Just 10 minutes away is the Kreuzberg district's Bergmann neighborhood, the place to go if you are looking for a café, restaurant or club.
