History:
The European explorers and Christian missionaries who visited Fiji in the 17th century left a considerable influence in the religion and culture of Fiji. Apart from the beaches, temples and the night life, Nadi has many historical places of interest as well. The Momi Battery Historic Park, an erstwhile gun battery during the turbulent times of World War II is a popular tourist attraction. Nestled amidst a sprawling sugar cane filed, this battery site overlooking the strategic Navula Passage played a significant surveillance role in the war days. Shopping is very much on cards while in Nadi as it has a number of exciting souvenir shops, duty free shops and flea markets, it a shopper’s delight.
