There are numerous budget hotels as well as youth hostels accommodation in the student-rich town of Nsukka. Tourists are assured of comfortable lodgings, bed and breakfast and the lodging rates are reasonably affordable.
History
The Nigerian city is connected to the Igbo ethnic group and the sources of its history are relatively unknown. It is rumoured that the Nri kingdom had good contacts with this city in the past. Nsukka was initially a Biafran town, which was seized by Nigerian soldiers in 1967. What followed was blood and suffering for many innocents living in Nsukka- not to add the growing refugee clan.
Popular Places
Nsukka city is mainly popular for its educational institutes. The first university set up in Nigeria known as the University of Nigeria is located in Nsukka. Many foreign students from Africa and all over the world visit these universities for study purposes.

The roadways and transport systems are relatively poor in this Nigerian land, if compared with the western countries. Other modes of transport like buses, taxis and motorbikes are cheap and affordable by tourists.

Likewise, Anambra city, with many ports and harbours, located in the River Niger is a great getaway for romantic couples visiting Nigeria.
Igbo is the official language of the area. English is used as the second language of the region and you can find most of the residents interacting in the language.
