Rincon is one city which is popular amongst surfers. It forms the Western coast of the valley. Rincon being the part of Puerto Rico is obviously Spanish by origin. History
History says that since its foundation in late 17th Century, Rincon has been beautifying the Western Coast of Puerto Rico. The initial residents of the city were Taino people. Later, Spain and finally U.S. took over Rincon as part of Puerto Rico. World War II and Great Depression affected the entire country. But amidst all this, Rincon steadily and slowly developed itself into a holiday destination. Sea Beach Colony was the first tourist destination then, but today around 60 years later, Rincon is the best surfing stop-over.

Popular Places and Monuments
With its dazzling streak of beaches like Tres Palmas, Domes, Pools Beach and many others, Rincon has been a surfing extravaganza. Of all the beaches Tres Palmas has been the show stealer as it has the renowned huge-wave spot. The best time to visit Rincon though is between October and May. There are other lovely alternatives like snorkelling and scuba diving on these beaches which can make you go crazy.

Another monumental structure tourists opt to visit in Rincon is the infamous Punta Higueras Light House which was built by French and due to an earthquake it had to be rebuilt in 20th Century. The present structure gives an idea about the magnanimity of olden days.

Getting around the City
To move around the city, travellers generally take personal hired cabs but sea routes are preferred over land routes. Thus, ferries and boats replace cars and buses for the same, for smooth travel it’s a good guide to keep some change handy to pay for your travel.

There are enough sailing and surfing clubs all around the beaches of Rincon. The old and traditional Taino Divers is a diving club which teaches tourist the art of scuba diving. On the whole, all of them are experienced and can give you complete worth of your money.

For sea food lovers, there are lovely restaurants by the sea where in you can have sea facing candle light dinners. Night parties and discotheques are a regular by the beach side.
