Dublin, My Husband Took Me to the City of Joy

My husband had some two day work at Dublin and he asked me to accompany. Oh, my heart swell with joy and my excitement knew no bounds, so I readily agreed. I had no idea that it was going to be my most memorable and exciting holiday.

Our Dublin accommodation was arranged, by my husband’s company, in a beautiful 3-star hotel that took complete care of our comfort. It was during a friendly chat with the manager that I got to know of other alternatives of stay at Dublin like guesthouses, town houses Bed and Breakfast (B & B), self catering accommodations, campus accommodations, budget hotels and cheap hostels. We started our Dublin tour with much pomp and show. During my local travel, I noticed plush country homes and farm houses covering acres of land and that the art, culture and literature were the inspiration behind many of the tourist destinations. We started off with a visit to National Museum and then visited other destinations like Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery of Modern Art, The Writer’s Museum, Leinster House, Merrion Square and Trinity College and not forgetting to check out the Temple Bar area.

Talking, chatting, shopping, wining and dining together brought a new enthusiasm and energy into our souls and our relationship. The best time was when we spent the entire evening in the arms of St. Stephen Green gazing into each other’s eyes amidst the flowerbeds and fountains.

Having got this opportunity where my husband and I were miles away from the routine boring life, we did all that we had missed due to lack of time all these years. We wandered here and there, sung, danced, had the best food and watched theatre.

What a relief this trip brought to me! I am just keeping my fingers crossed and looking forward for such more official assignments for my husband.
