New York City has many famous sights and places to visit that attracts visitors for weekend breaks and holidays every year, from independent travellers, group booking to return holiday makers that can’t get enough of what NYC has to offer and it must be said that no matter how many times you visit New York City there is always something new and exciting to do or see.

Statue of Liberty – The Statue of Liberty is one of the most iconic tourists sights in the world and is featured in many films and was a gift to the United States from the people of France, there is a smaller version of the statue in Paris.

The statue is of a robed female figure representing Libertas, the Roman goddess of freedom, she holds a torch and a tabula ansata (a tablet evoking the law) upon which is inscribed the date of the



American Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776. A broken chain lies at her feet. The Statue of Liberty is located on Liberty Island off shore from lower Manhattan.

Visitors to New York used to be able to take a ferry ride across the River Hudson to Liberty Island to get a closer look at the Statue, but access to the Island has been restricted since Hurricane Sandy in October 2012 for safety reasons

Empire State Building – The Empire State Building in Mid Manhattan at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street is a 102 storey Art Deco building synonymous with the New York Skyline.
