Havana Cuba A Perfect Holiday Destination
Visiting Havana with a Long Lost Friend
I visited Havana last Christmas Holiday with a long lost friend of mine, Garry. Both of us studied together from school to college and completed our masters. And then life took us to our own ways and slowly we lost touch. A couple of weeks ago, we met online. Thanks to Facebook, a social networking site.
The spark of old times ignited again and didn’t seem to rest at all. So we decided to meet, this time physically at a central place to make travel easy for both of us, we discussed different destination options and finally zeroed in on Havana Cuba. Meeting Garry after 15 long years made me almost vomit with excitement. Ah, the two of us really had a blast together in our childhood.
Havana is a city full of beautiful beaches and a popular tourist destination. There are lots of budget hotels, guesthouses, motels and even youth hostels to cater to the accommodation needs and budget of visitors. We got ourselves booked to a decent hotel that had good facilities and a convenient location. Staying in adjacent rooms reminded me of the hostels that we stayed in while completing our studies.
During this tour, I did not mind thinking about the past. In fact that is all the both of us did all the time on this holiday to Havana Cuba. Dressed in the beach wear, we enjoyed chit-chatting, talking, discussing, recalling names of our professors and old classmates, eating and sleeping. How long I yearned for a holiday like this! Good company, accommodation and great beaches to chill out on.
We visited some of the popular beaches like Playa del Este, Santa Maria Beach, Bacuranao, Playa Guanabo, etc. We also resorted to our childhood pranks and staring at skimpily clad women. The only difference was the change in the colour of our hair. Reliving the past refreshed us in and out. We separated with a promise of meeting again. Hope it doesn’t take another 15 years.
