The buildings have beautiful arches and doorways with balconies on the first, second and upper floors and pale pink, blue, yellow and cream facades, the pastel colours blend in with the brickwork of other buildings that have been left in there natural state.

Another must visit sight is the The Catedral de la Virgen María de la Concepcion Inmaculada de La Habana (Cathedral of The Virgin Mary of the Immaculate Conception) otherwise known as the Cathedral of Havana, the Cathedral is built in baroque style and dates back hundreds of years it’s the centre of Cuban Catholic Church and the seat of Cardinal Archbishop of Havana. The plaza in front of the Cathedral has shops, cafes and restaurants where you can relax and take in the atmosphere.
The Castillo de San Carlos de la Cabana known as Fort of Saint Charles, is a massive fortress complex and a historical sight in Havana each night at 9pm the cannons are fired from the fortress walls and this is known as El Canonazo De Las 9 which means Gun Shot of the 9, this is a tradition kept from Colonial era when the cannons being fired at 9pm signalled that the city wall doors where being closed, the fortress is part of a historical Park that has museums, houses and El Morro Castle
The city has a lot of historical buildings; plaza’s and squares that offer a true feeling of Havana life and history. But for those looking for a change from all the history and culture that Havana offers there is only one place to head for and that is the beach, Playas de Este.
For those of you that love the sun, want to relax in the shade or just feel the sea breeze on your face this is ideal, the beach is famous for its beautiful sanding shoreline lined with palm trees offering a little shade from the sun.
But Playas de Este is not just one beach or small stretch of coast line, actually it extends for 15 Miles (24 KM) and is a chain of beaches so there is always a perfect spot for you at Havana Beach whether you want to be alone or close to some other holiday makers.
