Montmartre is a hill in the north of Paris, France and is 130 metres high and Montmartre gives its name to the surrounding district, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris.
There are many cheap hostels in Paris and budget hotels in and around Montmartre area they are perfect place to stay as they offer easy access to the normal sights and places to visit while at the same time being within walking distance of all that’s on offer in Montmartre.

One of the major attractions in Montmartre Paris is the Church Sacrè-Coeur, when translated means "Sacred Heart", which refers to the physical heart of Jesus. Sacrè-Coeur is a beautiful architectural Cathedral set upon the top of a hill overlooking Paris, from the steps of Sacrè-Coeur you have a panoramic view of Paris and can see for miles on a clear day. There are many cafes and Restaurants catering for all budgets from coffee and piece of cake to A la carte menus and fine dining.
Montmartre is home to the famous Moulin Rouge Restaurant, with its iconic Windmill, not to be mistaken for Moulin Rouge theatre which is located in the18th arrondissement of Paris on Boulevard de Clichy.
For the energetic traveller you can walk up the steps to the top of the hill and take in the view or enjoy a meal in one of the restaurants, if you don’t want to stress your self or are feeling a little lazy, then there is a cable car that only costs a few Euros that will take you up or down the hill, so there is no excuse not to take a look and see what’s on offer.
