France awards 8 Exclusive Palace rated Hotels which is higher than 5 Star Luxury Hotels
Frances Ministry of Tourism has awarded 8 French Hotels the exclusive Palace rating which is above 5 Star, the awards for Palace rating was decided by a 10 person panel from a range of fields of hospitality, architecture and design, literature, film and television, science and business.
The Panel looked at every aspect of the Hotels that were entered to be considered for the new rating from Staff appearance and service provided, hotel accommodation and standards in the rooms and suites, facilities such as Spar and Fitness, to bar and restaurant food and atmosphere.

Hotel Le Bristol – Paris France
Le Meurice – Paris France
Park Hyatt Paris Vendome - Paris France
Hotel Plaza Athenee – Paris France
Grand Hotel du Cap Ferrat – Saint Jean Cap Ferrat France
Hotel de Charme Les Airelles - Courchevel France
Hotel du Palais – Biarritz France
Le Cheval Blanc – Courchevel France
Looking at the hotels that were awarded this new Exclusive Palace rating it must be acknowledged that they are indeed very luxurious and offer amazing facilitates and hotel accommodation in spacious rooms and suites, but what must also be pointed out is that it can’t only be 8 Hotels in France only deserve this new rating, and half the Palace rated hotels in Paris.
Okay it is the French Tourism Board that has awarded this rating to the Hotels but can it really be that the 8 so called best and therefore Exclusive Palace rated Hotels in the whole world are all in France? Or is this just the best Hotels in France and not the world.
This is a great way for the French Tourist board to promote France as one of the top travel destinations for Luxury tourist but it seems a bit suspect to me.
Maybe the British Tourism Board should setup a panel to award the best hotels in UK and rate them Royal Standard
