Statue of Liberty to Reopen in Time For 4 July Celebrations
Holiday makers and visitors in New York City have had to appreciate the Statue of Liberty from a distance, because since Hurricane Sandy in late 2012.
Liberty Island and the Statue of Liberty have been closed to visitors due to the damage from the storm, Acres of Liberty Island was flooded and the whole Island was determined as unsafe for visitors

New York City Authority have been working hard to repair the damage caused by the natural disaster and officials announced that the Statue of Liberty would be open to the public again in time for the July 4th Celebrations in New York City.
Luckily the Statue of Liberty itself was spared from any damage during the hurricane but the surrounding areas was flooded up to 8 foot of water in places, causing extensive damage, paving were uprooted, railings broken and building were flooded.
Hurricane Sandy caused major damage across New York City and left New York paralysed for several days, while authorities and emergency services worked hard to make repairs and fix damage caused, no corner of NYC was left untouched, homes, schools, shops, hotels, hostels in New York and countless buildings, the New York Metro System were all affected as well as the famous sights like the Statue of Liberty and Central Park.
But now after months of repairs the famous Statue of Liberty, one of the symbols of American Hope is due to be reopened in time for 4 July and Summer.
