Rome Italy at Its Best
My dream about visiting Rome
That day I was hooked to the television all day. It was a Sunday and I was feeling bored at home. The daily routine of home to office and from office to home was bugging me. More than 6 months had passed and I had not taken a break from work.
Amidst all these thoughts, I was surfing channels of the TV when suddenly my fingers stopped at a channel that shows popular tourist destinations of the world. This week it w
as about to take the viewers to Rome. I became glued to the screen and got to know some fabulous things about Rome. Here I go telling you what I saw and heard!
Rome is home to many historic palaces and churches. The most prominent being St. Peter’s Basilica, located in the Vatican City. One of the most holy sites of Christendom, St. Peter’s Basilica is considered to be the largest church ever built. Another place worth a visit is St. Peter’s Square. The huge elliptical St Peter’s Square is adorned with two beautiful mountains and offers a great view to the tourists in the evening.
The Sistine Chapel is another hot favourite and is one of the famous monuments of the world as it is decorated with frescoes executed by the most famous painters of the 15th century. Other places in Rome to visit are Spanish Steps, Colosseo, Piazza Navona, Campo de’ Fiori, Villa Borghese, The Trevi Fountain, The Roseto Comunale, etc.
Accommodation is not an area of concern, if one is in Rome. There are various 2 star hotels, luxury hotels, holiday apartments, etc. And if you want to go for a cheaper place to say, you will find various budget hotels and youth hostels accommodation that boast of top class facilities. The channel also claimed that if one thinks to travel to Rome, one will have a variety of places to visit for a perfect holiday.
The TV program refreshed me in and out. I was deeply bowled over by the scenic beauty of Rome. The next thing I thought of was to apply for a leave the next day at office. After all, Rome was calling
