Whats Behind Slogans
Its not the Slogan That Matter But the Substance Behind It
Slogans and sayings are one of the best way to catch people’s attention, and bring to mind a product, place or some information.
Now saying that there is no point having a great slogan if there is no substance behind it.
It’s the substance that is really going to make people take notice in the long term and do what a slogan has brought to mind, whether that’s buying a certain product, visiting a particular place, staying in a certain hotel accommodation or even sharing of important information.
The most successful slogans are short and sweet, meaning they are only a few words long and get to the point without and waffle, a famous brand with a well known slogan doesn’t even need to show their product, or their name, as their slogan is well known and says it all.

You might not recognise all the brands and products slogans but most will sound familiar.
Not every slogan is successful and over the years thousands of have been abandoned by companies.
Nearly every city worldwide has a slogan or saying that is meant to help promote travel to the city, such as the examples below
New York – The Big Apple
London, England – The Square Mile
Paris – City of Light
Las Vegas – Sin City
Hollywood – Tinseltown
Bangkok, Thailand – Venice of the East

A successful city slogan is just the beginning for a city to be successful, it’s like the wrapper of a sweet, it’s the sweet inside that is important.
Just in the same way, a city must offer visitors a vast array of things to keep them happy and entertained, this includes budget accommodation to luxury hotels, famous sights, monuments and places to visit, museums, art galleries, theatre and great restaurants, cafes and bars, to wine and dine. Not forgetting, Shopping, in markets, shops and malls. All these things also need to be easily accessed by good public transportation, of trams, buses, subway and trains.
These are just a few of the basic infrastructures and facilities required for any city to be successful, what is on offer in each city and destination varies slightly but many of the basic things are the same for any successful City destination. |
