Snow leads to further Canceled Flights at Terminal 5
April showers have a new meaning, London and the South East was blanketed with snow up to 3 Inches deep, the last significant snow showers in April was in 1989.
The snow has brought more misery to the travellers at London's Heathrow Airports Terminal 5, over 100 Flights have been cancelled and many flights have been delayed due to the un-seasonal snow showers.
Two runways were briefly closed to allow for deicing and the amount of runway traffic was refused, all adding to the existing delays caused by the problems with the baggage handling system. Thousands of passengers were stranded while other flight due at Heathrow were diverted to other UK airports.
Some travellers spent the night in Local Hotels waiting for their reschedualed flights. Hotels in the area have taken advantage of the troubles at Heathrow Airports Terminal 5, by increasing their room prices.
It seems even nature is not on the side of Heathrow Airports Terminal 5, and the success of a smooth service provided by BA and the new terminal.
