British Airways until June 2008
British Airways has delayed their complete Move of all Long Haul Flights to London Heathrow Terminal 5 from Terminal 4 at Heathrow until June 2008, BA had hoped to transfer all operations to the new Terminal 5 at Heathrow by the end of April 2008, but continued problems with the baggage handing System and un-seasonal Snow Showers added to the delays caused to BA Customers at London Heathrow’s Terminal 5, many customer were forced to spend nights in local Hotels until their cancelled flights were rescheduled the following days.
Willie Walsh, BA’s Chief Executive said the company wanted to make sure everything was working properly before more strain is put on the system.
"We are making this decision in the interests of customers," he said. “Though Terminal Five is now working well, we need to have confidence that good service can be maintained when the terminal is handling larger numbers of customers."
The delay of British Airways will have a knock on affect for other airline carriers using terminal 4 who were in line to take over free slots that BA would leave by moving to Terminal 5.
