Airlines & Tour Operators going Bust - Travellers Beware

A word of Advice, for any Traveller, looking to book a Holiday or Airline Ticket. Get to know the airline and tour operator you book your Holiday with, before you pay any money, because they might not be in Business, when you come to go on Holiday or Travel.

You should always book or purchase any Airline Ticket or Holiday with a Credit Card; because your credit card will have added protection in the case of service you paid for not being provided.

Another important factor to finding the best Air Fares and Holiday hostels, bed and breakfast, guesthouse and hotels Accommodation, will the company you’re buying your Travel Ticket or holiday Accommodation still going to be in Business when the time comes for you to go on Holiday.

It’s a sad but true fact that, a lot of Airlines, tour operators and travel companies are walking a very thin line between success and failure; many companies are trading even though they are not profitable and are finding it difficult to raise capital.

The big question is which Airline or Tour operator will go bust next? Leaving customers stranded again.

Alitalia, the Italian national carrier, may be the next casualty. It has been bailed out by the Italian government over the past decade, but appears to be in the last chance saloon as it loses $1.4m (£780,000) a day.

Alitalia’s problem is not just a simple case of lack of finance, but much more in depth due to Union opposition, to a rescue plan led by Roberto Colaninno, the industrialist who controls scooter maker Piaggio.

Today it is important not only to find a cheap ticket or package Holiday but also to make sure, that if the worst happens that you are covered by insurance or you have alternative means of getting home.

It is always said that: Prevention is better than cure, in the case of Travel Plans and Holiday accommodation this is definitely the case.
