Launch of Apples Ipad
Apples CEO Steve Jobs Launches Ipad in San Francisco California
Steve Jobs, the Apple Inc Boss, Finally launches the long awaited Ipad, touch screen tablet computer which looks like a giant Iphone and has just one Button on the screen. The Ipad weighs 1,5 Lbs, has a 9.7 Inch Display and 10 hours battery life, Ipad runs virtually all the Iphone Apps. (Applications)
Steve Jobs said “the Ipad is Awesome for Movies and TV shows” and Ipad is much more intimate than a laptop and more capable than a smart phone” The Ipad has a map powered by google to help you travel around smoothly.
The Ipad will bring a whole new experience to browsing the internet on the move, its ideal for travellers, whether its just to check your emails, book youth hostels and budget hotels accommodation, watch a movie or even check the news and latest sports updates.
The launch of the Ipad comes at a time when e-readers like Amazon’s Kindle and others from Barnes & Noble and Sony are on the Market, with even more coming to the market later in the year from companies such as Samsung and the Hearst Corp.
To give you an idea of the market last year about 3 Million e-readers were sold, estimates are that around 6 million will be sold in 2010, the Bulk of the e-reader sales were from the Kindle that retails for $259. This also raises the question about the price for Apples Ipad $499, which will is the major selling point for their new product and will also be an indicator of the target market and scope of the e-reader market open to the new Ipad.
There has been much discussion about the name Ipad, whether it is the right name for it, to some women it sounds more like a feminine product (Sanitary Pad), to me I take the name Ipad Literally, to mean Internet Pad, Jokes apart Apple has become the biggest mobile devise maker, and love or hate their products, everyone wants to know about them, whether your a backpacker into hostels and budget hotels or a high flying executive and into 5 star hotels and michelin star restaurants.
