Grand National the most glamorous horse race in the world

It’s not just horse racing lovers that enjoy the Grand National, this world famous race held every year in UK is an event that everyone can enjoy and is the most loved and popular horse race that takes place in United Kingdom.

The yearly horse racing has grown into an amazing event with people planning many month in advance about what to wear and who to go with, it is traditional for ladies to wear extravagant hats and elegant dresses and for men to wear tailored suites, this makes Grand National one of the most Glamorous events in the yearly calendar.

The Grand National is held at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool, UK and has always been a success, and this year is no exception, the added benefit of blue skies and sunny weather today have helped to sell out the event.

Both visitors to UK and locals enjoy the Grand National race, hotels in Liverpool are always fully booked far in advance of the race date and some people stay in a London Hotels and travel to Liverpool by train for the event, which only takes just over 2 hours.

The Grand National race is over about 4.5 miles and consists of a two lap course with 16 fences, Horses and their jockey’s have to jump over fences and complete the two laps as quickly as possible, this type of race is know as a steeplechase.

The Glory of winning the Grand National this year went to Ballabriggs ridden by Jason Maguire.

Every year millions of people either attend the race or watch it on the TV and this year there was about 500 to 600 million viewers.
