The MEININGER City Hostel & Hotel Hallesches Ufer offers hotel quality at hostel prices. There are 74 rooms spread over 7 floors. This hostel is the most modern and largest MEININGER house in Berlin with 364 beds. All rooms have modern furnishing and have a shower/ WC and TV. Our 26 single and double rooms additionally have a telephone. A special highlight is the rooftop terrace with a phenomenal view over Berlin's rooftops.

Rooms are available starting at 3 pm on the date of arrival, although you may check-in prior to that. Our free luggage room is available for storing luggage in the meantime

Cleanliness is a high priority for us. All rooms are cleaned daily, as well as are our common rooms and areas.

The hostel is located in a safe area in the district of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. The building and the rooms are equipped with a highly modern keycard system.

The entire hostel has a modern fire alarm system with smoke detectors and fire extinguishers on each floor.

Additionally, our reception is staffed 24 hours a day so there is always a contact person available for questions and problems.

The MEININGER City Hostel & Hotel Hallesches Ufer is located in the central Berlin district Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. Our central location makes it extremely easy and quick to reach us with public transportation.

Nightlife

Berlin's nightlife is legendary, colorful and diverse. After reunification, a plethora of new clubs bordering on legal popped up in the former east. Now, there are over 200 bars and clubs forming a creative music scene that not only has attracted clubbers from all over the world, but continues to attract new artists and musicians as well, preserving the tradition of diversity and innovation. Everyone who likes music is sure to find something of great value.

The best source of information about current events is via the popular city magazines Zitty or Tip (German links).

You can always find just what you are looking for in this city at any time, day or night. Where ever the eye wanders there are restaurants, bars, cafés, pubs, etc, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The gastronomic selection includes everything from lamb in mint sauce to simple hamburger patties with potato salad, and not to forget the Berlin specialties of curry wurst and doener kebabs. There are over 8000 restaurants from which to choose.

Our tip: Just 10 minutes away is the Kreuzberg district's Bergmann neighborhood, the place to go if you are looking for a café, restaurant or club.

You must give us 24 hours notice of any change and/or cancellation of your booking, otherwise you will be charged for the first night of your stay and any remaining nights will be cancelled.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTS From Hauptbahnhof (Lehrter Bahnhof) take the MetroBus M41 in direction to Sonnenallee/Baumschulenstrasse unto the stop Willy-Brandt-Haus-Berlin (headquarter of the SPD party). Get off here and walk on in course of the bus â€" you are now on the Wilhemstrasse. After approx. 200m you arrive at the cross-street Wilhelmstrasse/Hallesches Ufer. If you want to get to the MEININGER City Hostel at Hallesches Ufer, follow the street (Hallesches Ufer) on the right side for about 500m. Right-handed you can now see the entry to the house. If you want to get to the MEININGER City Hostel at Tempelhofer Ufer, cross the bridge of the U-Bahn and follow the street after on your right side (Tempelhofer Ufer) for around 500m â€" you are now standing right before the entrance of the house. From Ostbahnhof you have to choose a S-Bahn which drives in direction to Ostkreuz. At the next station (Warschauer Strasse) you have to get out and go up the stairs. On the bridge you go left and after a few meters you will arrive at the station of the U1/U12 Warschauer Strasse. Take the metro (direction: Uhlandstrasse/Ruhleben) to Möckernbrücke, where you have to get off. Get out of the station via the exit Hallesches Ufer/Tempelhofer Ufer and turn right â€" follow the street against the circulation until you arrive at the first cross-street. If you want to get to the MEININGER City Hostel at Hallesches Ufer, you have to walk on on the other side of the street. After 100m you will see the entrance to the house on your left side. If you want to get to the MEININGER City Hostel at Tempelhofer Ufer, cross the bridge of the U-Bahn and follow the street after on your left side (Tempelhofer Ufer) for about 100m. You can now see the entrance on your right side. From Central Bus Station (ZOB) use the bus 139 in direction to Werderstrasse which takes you to the station Kaiserdamm. Here you have to change to the U1/U12 directed to Warschauer Strasse unto Möckernbrücke. Please get off the train here. You can now follow the aforementioned description from Ostbahnhof. FROM THE AIRPORTS From Tegel Airport take the bus X9 or 109 with final destination Zoologischer Garten. Get out at the stop Jakob-Kaiser-Platz and change to the U7 directed to Rudow. Get off the train at Möckernbrücke an leave the station behind you via the exit Hallesches Ufer/Tempelhofer Ufer. Turn right and follow the Street for about 50m to the next cross-street. If you want to get to the MEININGER City Hostel at Hallesches Ufer, you have to walk on on the other side of the street. After 100m you will see the entrance to the house on your left side. If you want to get to the MEININGER City Hostel at Tempelhofer Ufer, cross the bridge of the U-Bahn and follow the street after on your left side (Tempelhofer Ufer) for about 100m. You can now see the entrance on your right side. From Schönefeld Airport use the bus X7 or 171 with destination Hermannplatz â€" get out of it at the stop Rudow and change to the U7 in direction to Rathaus Spandau. Do not forget to get off the train at Möckernbrücke, from where you are only a few more meters away from us. You can now follow the aforementioned description from Tegel Airport. From Tempelhof Airport take the bus 104 with destination Berliner Strasse â€" get off at the stop Platz der Luftbrücke and change to the U6 driving to Alt-Tegel. At Mehringdamm, you have to change for one more short station to Möckernbrücke which you do with the U7 in directon to Rathaus Spandau. Leave the station via exit Hallesches Ufer/Tempelhofer Ufer. You can now follow the aforementioned description from Ostbahnhof. BY CAR From (northwest Hamburg) you drive on the highway A24/E26/E56 in directed to Berlin. At the triangle Havelland, change to the A10/E55, direction Berlin Zentrum (nördlicher Ring). Change to the A111/E26 at the triangle Oranienburg, still directed to Berlin Zentrum. This way you get straight to the city-highway A100 in direction to Schöneberg. The gateway Tempelhofer Damm is your sign to depart â€" in direction to Kreuzberg. Follow the the Tempelhofer Damm unto Platz der Luftbrücke, from here on the street´s name is Mehringdamm. Drive on to the Mehringbrücke (the U-Bahn-Bridge crosses it) and after it turn left into the street Hallesches Ufer. After approx. 200m you can see our hostel â€" take the inlet. After the barrier you can park your car in the backyard. If you want to get to the MEININGER City Hostel & Hotel at Hallesches Ufer you have already arrived. If you want to get to the MEININGER City Hostel & Hotel at Tempelhofer Ufer there are two possibilities: >>>You leave your car at Hallesches Ufer 30 and walk over by feet. Walk right along the Street unto the Grossbeerenstrasse. Here you have to cross the U-Bahn-bridge and Tempelhofer Ufer after. Then turn left and walk left along the U-Bahn-Line until you arrived at the entry (approx. 100m). >>>You drive the same way with your car as described by feet â€" you can unload your car here but unfortunately there are no parking spaces so you have to drive back to Hallesches Ufer 30 with your car, after. From east (Frankfurt an der Oder) you take the highway A12/E30 in direction to Berlin. Change to the A113 at Schönefelder Kreuz in direction to Berlin Zentrum â€" this way you get straight to the city-highway A100. Then drive on in direction to Flughafen Tegel and and use the gateway Tempelhofer Damm in direction to Kreuzberg. You can now follow the aforementioned description from northwest (Hamburg). From south (Dresden) you reach Berlin by highway A13/E36/E55. At Schönefelder Kreuz you Change to the A113 directed to Berlin Zentrum â€" you get straight to the city-highway A100 this way. Drive in direction to Flughafen Tegel and get out at the gateway Tempelhofer Damm in direction to Kreuzberg. You can now follow the aforementioned description from northwest (Hamburg). From west (Hannover/Magdeburg) you drive on the highway A2/E30 to Berlin and change to the A10 at the triangle Werder (direction: Berlin Zentrum). When you reach the triangle Nuthetal, change to the A115 â€" still the same direction. After a few minutes you will arrive at the triangle AVUS/Funkturm, where you have to change to the A110 in direction to Flughafen Schönefeld. Use the gateway Tempelhofer Damm in Direction to Kreuzberg.
