Most of the hostels offer basic yet comfortable accommodation facilities. No food is served in room and no staffs are available for cleaning and doing the dishes. History
Discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1498, this island was settled since the 16th century. The earliest settlers were the refugees from the city of Nueva Cádiz, which was destroyed by a tropical storm on Cubagua Island. After they abandoned the island, Spanish and English settlers made this island their home

Popular Places
Coche Island is a perfect beach destination as it has many beautiful beaches including Punta La Playa, San Pedro and El Coco. The traditional folklore and festivals make it a lively destination. Its main town of San Pedro is a lively city of a distinct personality and a rich festive calendar.  The Sea Shell Cementery is another popular spot worth a visit. There are many interesting cliff formations left by the strong winds and water currents in El Coco Beach that look a tad like the Grand Canyon in the US.

Getting Around
A guide to hassle free travel in Coche Island might suggest car rentals to explore the island in less than two hours. However, in case you are not hard pressed for time; bicycle tour would be a great option. If you like mingling with the simple and fun loving locals, set out on a catamaran cruise or a ferry ride to explore island and its cities
