Manama is the capital of Bahrain, one of the contemporary Arab nations in the Persian Gulf. Being the largest city and also the cosmopolitan heart of the country, Manama is well-known for its nightlife and wonderful shopping places.

History:

Al-Fateh Mosque is also located in the city and it is one of the largest mosques in the world. Pearl Monument is another interesting site for the tourists visiting the city.

Sitra, also known as the Portuguese Fort, can be visited to view a number of excavations found here. Al-Khamis Mosque and Fadel Mosque are other tourist sites worth visiting. 

Getting Around:
Bus services are available to connect various points of the city. Apart from that, one can hire a taxi or get a car on rent to get around the city, a good guide is to keep some small notes and change handy to pay for your travel.

Places of Entertainment:
Manama offers unlimited entertainment through its innumerable venues. Corniche al-Fateh is located on the east coast and is known to offer mesmerizing views of the city. A number of bars and children rides are also found at this spot. The famous pubs in the city are great way to get entertained, with lots of music and drinks served here. There is no dearth of cinemas and theatres in the city.

Shopping is one activity that you can’t afford to miss while on a trip to Manama. Gold jewellery can be purchased at various stores in the city. Also, there are a number of shopping malls to make shopping a pleasurable experience. Foods and drinks served at various restaurants and cafes should not be missed.
