Bali, the beautiful city of Indonesia, is rightly referred to as the island of God. History
Bali was founded by Majapahit Empire in 1343. After sometime, Bali became a colony of the Dutch for many subsequent years. During the Second World War, the city of Bali, along with major part of Southeast Asia, was occupied by Japan. After the World War, Bali was let free from the acquisition of Japan. Indonesia got its independence in the year 1949 and the island of Bali was included as one of the cities of the Indonesian republic. Bali had to face several dark periods which affected its tourism industry during the years 2002 and 2005.

Popular Places
There are several Hindu temples in the central Bali region. Showcasing the vibrant Hindu culture, the temple Pura Luhur Uluwatu is very popular among the tourist. Kuta beach located on the southern Bali is the best place of the island. Amazing landscapes, beautiful beaches, lush green rice paddies attract the tourist from the world. Some of the best scuba diving sites are located on the southeast coast of the city.

Getting Around
There are many options to move around Bali, but the roads are chaotic with traffic jams and a guide would be of great help. One can take the option of bus which is cheap and reliable. Also, there are cars and motorbikes available on rent. One can take expensive Doron ride to have fun. A bicycle for short distance is one of the effective means to explore the city.

Places of Entertainment
Bali is one of the world’s topmost surfing destinations. You can learn surfing from one of the many surfing schools located here. Other water sports like water rafting set the pulse racing. Night life in Bali is staggering and remains lively till the early hours. You can head to Ubud if you want to enjoy spa and cultural activities of Bali.
