History:
Dubrovnik, previously called as Ragusa, has a vast history dating back to the 5th century. Established by Greek sailors, the city progressed by maritime trade. It was under French and Austrian rule and the city was heavily destroyed during the war post Croatian independence in 1991.

City walls surrounding the old city are the landmark of Dubrovnik. Built as fortress to the city, these walls still retain their charm and are among the best undamaged ancient walls of the world. Minceta tower on the higher side of walls is the highest point of the city and offers spectacular sights of the place. Bokar, St. John and St. Luke towers also offer good views. Old town of Dubrovnik is truly incredible. Cathedral of Dubrovnik and St. Blaise’s church are amazing constructions and are majestic. Rector’s palace which was seat of the erstwhile Regusan government has enormous historical significance. This grandeur built in Gothic and Renaissance style shall certainly mesmerize visitors.
