Hamburg – The Water City of Germany

Hamburg is the second largest city of Germany and is well know as home to the second largest harbour of the European Union. Aerospace industry and the media industry present in the city have further enhanced its worth on the globe. Hamburg is a popular travel destination.

History:
Hamburg derives its name from the castle Hammaburg, which was built to provide protection against Slavic invasions. Hamburg possesses a sad history of destruction, as the city was destroyed a number of time due to foreign invasions and fires. The city was also destructed by aerial bombing during World War II. However, the city has made it possible to restore its position, every time it was put to ashes.
