City of Kigali – The Colourful Capital City of Rwanda
City Kigali in Rwanda is the capital and largest city of Rwanda. Since its independence in 1962, Rwanda has its economic, cultural, and transport hub, facilitating travel in Kigali.

Kigali has many international hotels providing all modern amenities like hot and cold bath, TV, telephone, internet browsing, attached restaurants, swimming pool and spa. Besides, there are other smaller and
budget hotels,
hostels, and apartments for rental. While there is no such bed and breakfast joint in the city, a few cheap hotels are available besides guest houses.
Brief History
Founded in 1907 by German Colonial rules, it grew into the largest city of Rwanda during the next 50 years. But it became the capital of Rwanda only after independence earned by Rwanda in 1962. In the process of selection as capital, it scored over the other contender Butare because of its central location. In 1994, large scale genocide saw the slaughter of over one million Tutsi and moderate Hutu by the Hutu militias.
Arriving at Kigali
Brussels Airlines from Belgium, Kenya Airways from Nairobi, Ethiopian Airlines from Addis Ababa and South African Airways from Johannesburg run daily air flights to Kigali. In addition, Rwanda has its own Rwandair Express that runs several flights everyday to various parts of Africa. One can fly to Entebe in Uganda and then travel by bus. Jaguar buses are best for the purpose.
Getting Around
Motor cycle taxis are the most important mode of transport for getting around. Other modes of transport are Matatus or minibuses which are also the cheapest way of moving in and around the city. You may prefer to hire a

Car Rentals Kigali
Several car rental services are there in Kigali. Uniform price is one of the major advantages of hiring cars in Kigali. Multiple minibus companies are also there that provide cheap transport. A visitor can use taxis but they are expensive and fares are normally not negotiable.
