Nakuru is the fourth largest city of Kenya and is located in the Rift Valley province to the northwest of Nairobi. History
Nakuru has a number of archaeological proofs that indicate the existence of the place since pre-historic times. The name of the city has been borrowed from the Maasai language. It was during the colonial era, when the British established the city as a part of the White Highlands. In 1904, the city obtained the township status and became a municipality in 1956. Since then, the city has been growing in various industrial fields.
