City Nova Mesto – The Famous Metropolis of Dolenjska in Slovenia

History
Novo Mesto came into being in the year 1365, before which it was a small pre-historic town near the River Krka. The Austrian Archduke Rudolf IV granted the status of a city to Novo Mesto and hence, it is officially known by the name of Rudolsfwerd. The present day name of the city was given after the suspension of Austria-Hungary alliance after the World War I. During the World War II, the city rolled between Germany and Italy, but finally came under the control of Germany. From the very beginning, the city was accepted as a growing economical and tourism destination.
