The capital city of Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is also the largest city of the Kingdom. The population of Riyadh is more than 6 million people. History

The city began its growth during the early 19th century and after 30 years it became popular as the capital city of Saudi Arabia.

Riyadh Museum of History and Archaeology is another place worth visiting. It is a great platform that displays local art of Riyadh as well as the interesting historical significance of ancient Arab Kingdoms. Visitors can also explore the Al Musmak Castle, a majestic fortress created in the year 1865 and the Al Murabba Palace.

Getting Around
Visitors wanting to explore the city may find the public transport very limited with availability of a few minibuses. Routes for men and women are separate adding to the confusion. Tourists can rely on white taxis that can be hired with driver in tow. The transport fares for taxis and private cars are quite economical. Traffic rules are very diverse when compared to Western countries and drivers have to be very careful not to speed or rash drive, a good guide is to take a taxi or get a driver.
