These attractions and their underlying emotional value due to Warsaw’s tragic World War history, makes Warsaw the perfect destination for curious tourists.

History
Warsaw’s history is marked by tragic events such as plagues, devastating fires, invasions and uprisings. It was elected as the Polish capital after Poland gained independence in 1918 through numerous uprisings against Russia, Austria and Prussia for more than 123 years. The World War II brought with it the darkest days in Warsaw’s history with the Germans almost completely annihilating the city.
