Gecko Hostel is set in an eloquent building which dates back to the 1900. Recently converted back to its semi natural state Gecko Hotel offers a home away from home in a modern world. How did we start I hear you ask? Three like minded individuals from completely different parts of the world crossed paths in Dublin, Ireland of all places! One night over a packet of cigarettes and a bottle of wine, the conversation tilted towards the disgraceful places we'd all stayed in over the years, and ultimately that we could provide a better service for Hostelling folk. 4 months later we decided to put our theory to the test and the idea for Gecko was born.
After much deliberation with different names we settled on Gecko, we found it was appropriate because as with travelers, the gecko is a rock hopper also. There is abundance of things to do near and around Gecko, such as:
The Zoo, The Chinese Gardens, Plaza Italia, The Planetarium, Parque Libertador, Plaza Serrano, Las Cañitas, Recoletta Cemetery, River Plate Stadium and many more exciting excursion to be seen!

How to Get There

Gecko Hostel is closely located to Plaza Italia which is the central bus terminus of Palermo. We are also a couple of blocks from 2 Subway stations , Palermo, which also has one of the main Railway Station going out of Buenos Aires and Ministerio Caranza which also inturn serves as a railway station for other outbound travels.
Plaza Italia, also with a Subway station is another departure and arrival area with buses ranging from local transit to buses which travel a little further a field, ie. Lujan, Tigre...
We are about 45mins to 1 hr from the international airport depending on the traffic, but dont let this deter you everything is this distance as the airpoort is situated quite a distance from the Downtown district . Arrangments can also be made for pick-ups to and from the airport.
